Play Our Whisky Run Open – The Masters Tournament
Georgia has Augusta, Port Colborne has Whisky Run!
Every year on the last Saturday of April, Whisky Run holds its very own (friendly version) Masters Tournament. Of course, with a fun spin!
Unlike the Masters, this tournament is open to everyone and the emphasis is on fun and participation, rather than competition.
Playing For The Green Scarf
Players compete in teams of two in a single round tournament with the format of a two person scramble. The coveted prize – The Green Scarf! This fun outing is a great way to start the season off.
No Pressure Competition!
“Like all of the Club Events at Whisky, the Open is a relaxed enjoyable event with some healthy competition but without the pressure that comes with some tournaments.”
We have 3 divisions – mixed, men’s and ladies and the low score overall in each division is awarded The Green Scarf. On the course we have long drive, closest to the pin and closest in 2 markers as well.
Post Tournament Celebrations
Inside after the round, the menu is always tailored after the Masters Champions Dinner held at Augusta a few weeks earlier.
“Augusta has a tradition of hosting a Champions dinner the night of the practice round where the winner from the previous year can select the menu… We take the menu and Chef Ashley cooks up a similar style for our guests at the Whisky Run Open (of course, we get creative, not having the limitless budget the PGA players do!)”
A Dinner For Champions
From Bubba Watson’s home style chicken with macaroni & cheese to Adam Scott’s elaborate surf & turf selection, we modify our menu to reflect theirs – and it always gets a rambunctious round of applause from our Masters’ participants!
Click below to view this year’s Whisky Run Open menu – inspired by 2016 Masters Champion, Danny Willett. This one is sure to be a crowd pleaser! It is right in Chef Ashley’s wheelhouse – and she’s been mastering her Yorkshire Pudding all winter!!!
So don’t miss out on the first Club Event of the season – The Whisky Run Open – Masters Tournament.
